I’m a mum and a therapist — which means I’ve walked the path alongside the mums I support every day.
My journey into therapy began from a deeply personal place.
When my son was born with multiple health conditions, I needed emotional support more than ever. But I was scared to reach out. I worried about being judged, about what it might mean for me as a single parent to admit I needed help.
Despite facing numerous diagnoses and surgeries, not one healthcare professional asked if I needed support.
That silence made me feel invisible in a time when I most needed to be seen.
Motherhood often carries a huge emotional and mental load, and not every mum has a village to share it with. Many mums put their lives on hold, putting their children first so completely that they’re last on their own list, or sometimes not on it at all.
I wish more people truly understood how much emotional labour this involves — the invisible, heavy weight many mums carry every day.
I became a therapist for mums because no one asked if I was okay.
For me, therapy and personal development started with fear but blossomed into passion. It became something I chose, not just needed. This transformation shaped how I work with mums now: with empathy born from experience, not just training.
I want other mums to know that I’ve been where they’ve been, that I understand what it feels like to hold so much without breaking, and to find healing in the cracks.
My aim isn’t to tell you who to be, it’s to help you reconnect with the version of you that’s been put aside. The one who still matters. Therapy isn’t about being perfect, it’s about feeling safe enough to be real.
