I’m Danielle, a qualified psychodynamic counsellor and author of the Unpack ™ book series (and a mum to a SEN child). My 9 years of study fuel my passion for helping women in Stoke heal from toxic or abusive relationships. This work isn’t just about healing the past. It’s about protecting your future, so you can finally discover, feel, and be yourself, without the pain of the past.

Explore
With your counsellor, you will explore both current and past issues. There will likely be themes or patterns that emerge. Through psychodynamic tools, the unconscious will be brought to light — which often reveals the root of the present issue(s).
Empower
Your counsellor is your guide and will help you put the pieces together so that you can gain greater awareness. This new level of insight is empowering, as it helps you feel more in control. The main focus is for you to gain insight with the support of your counsellor, thereby increasing your confidence and sense of empowerment.
Embody
From exploring your experiences to empowering you with new insights, psychodynamic counselling supports you in embodying real transformation. By working through unconscious patterns and deeply rooted emotions, you’ll integrate these changes into your daily life. This allows you to live with greater authenticity, self-awareness, and a deeper connection to your true self.
Relight Your Goals
I understand that being a Mum can make it difficult to focus on your own goals, especially when you’re constantly juggling the emotional and practical demands of motherhood. That’s why I offer monthly goal-setting sessions designed to guide you in defining clear, meaningful goals and implementing strategies rooted in psychological science—despite the challenges of everyday life.
In these sessions, we’ll explore your motivations, address potential barriers (such as time constraints or feelings of guilt), and create a customised plan that works for your lifestyle.
We’ll also consider the role of motherhood and the specific struggles that may arise, like meal times, bedtime routines, or other child-related challenges. These challenges may be particularly difficult for SEND and/or single parents, who often face additional demands and unique pressures. By looking at these areas, we can find ways to make these routines smoother, so your overall goals become easier to achieve.
Using techniques grounded in human behaviour, we’ll align your goals with your core values and break them into manageable, achievable steps. I’ll also share methods for making new habits easier to implement, leveraging the power of psychology to reduce resistance, increase motivation, and build consistency, without feeling overwhelmed.
